About

I’m Shandelle,

Growing up, I was always that creative kid. The one in charge of visuals for group projects, the girl drawing in corners of work pages, and eager for art class. I was raised in Northern Ontario in a home surrounded by art supplies and support from my parents, one being an artist, the other a geologist… the foundation for my love of art and nature.

I’ve carried a sketchbook with me ever since I can remember. Some hold grocery lists and the roughest ideas, others hold evidence of my love for travel, architecture, and writing. My creativity led me through high school, into the art studio, and on to study visual art at Sheridan College. After which, I travelled, worked in restaurants, on farms, and lived abroad, before finding my way to Georgian Bay.

These days, I am painting from my adventures, big or small, using acrylics or oils. Influenced by impressionists & contemporaries, vast landscapes & tiny flowers, bold colours & subtle moments. I continue to experiment and explore materials, subjects, and scale. My work and I are forever evolving and feeling inspired by fellow artists who encourage me to keep learning and growing, while staying true to myself and how I create.

When I’m not in the studio working on canvas, I can be found painting murals or teaching art in local classrooms.

Each outlet fuels the other and motivates new projects with fun collaborations. Sharing my creativity is what keeps me feeling connected - to myself and to the community I call home.
